Seventy-four buildings occupying 12 million square feet of space within the LMA's 213-acre campus rely on MATEP for the energy demands of their mission-critical activities. MATEP provides steam, electricity and chilled water to five major hospitals with more than 2,000 beds serving more than 100,000 inpatients and 2.4 million outpatients each year as well as the Harvard Institutes of Medicine. Numerous medical research centers and teaching institutions are also located in the LMA.
